The Internet is full of many money making opportunities. Many of which are
home based business" scams and people looking to get your money and a quick escape. Since there are no faces on the Internet, people feel more secure in stealing people's money. It's a sad but true fact and it is something that we all have to be aware of when running our home based business.
One way of finding out if a business opportunity is a scam or not is to do a search. Search for whatever product or home based business you are interested in and add the word "scam" to it. If you see many results showing complaints and hassles with them, it might be wise to forget it. On the other hand, if you see results of positive testimonials and articles, it most likely is not a scam.
Ask around and find out how long they have been in business in the history of their business. If they have been around for a while and have a clean history, it's most likely not a scam. Some of the newer home based business products and services are going to be tougher to research. In this case look for testimonials. If there are some, you may have to do some more research to see if those people are legit and that they aren't bogus claims.
Look for a phone number or email address on their website. Most scam artists will never leave a number or address or if they do it's not valid. Call the number and email the address and see if you get a response. A home based business scam is easy to detect if there is no way possible to reach support or if you never receive a reply.
The best thing to do to make sure it's not a scam is to join home based business forums and if you are interested in a product, see what others are using or recommending. For example, if you go into a forum and ask fellow Internet marketers for a reputable article distribution service, you are going to get many replies as to what works for them. Once you see that many members are recommending a certain product, you can be assured that that product is most likely not a scam. Sometimes you can even check certain companies like the better business bureau to see if they have anything.
Make sure to use all these tips when looking for home based business scams. You want to be absolutely sure it's not a scam before you give away any account information. Scams are prevalent across the Internet so be very protective of yourself and your home based business.
